We’ve all created an account (or most of us anyway) with an online shop when we’ve purchased products online, in particularly with stores we regularly buy from.
However, are you aware of the Shopify software that helps run the social log-in functionality?
Well, for stores that use Shopify as a CMS (which is a very good % of them worldwide), and they have an ability for visitors/customers to create an account, they may be using one of these applications below.
Now, when it comes to creating an account, a great way to provide a slick and frictionless UX is by providing customers the option to log in with their social accounts (sort of like 1-click upsell type experiences).
Building this functionality from scratch is quite costly, but luckily, there’s a great range of options, which I’ve put together in this guide below of what I personally suggest you should check out.

As you can see I’ve talked about quite a few login apps which I recommend after conducting reviews and trialling many of them out myself. So, I basically would encourage to check and assess them all out to see which fits your Shopify store needs. Having said that, if I had to get down to two (2) choices that I’ve used and has great ratings (and features), they would have to be ‘Concierge Customer Accounts’ and Flits. Make sure to head to those sections in this guide to see my reasons and list of top features of why they’re great.
When it comes to the capabilities that you should look out for with these Shopify login apps, I would be taking into account - First, user experience and design customisation (especially with the dashboard and login pages). I suggest testing it out first on a draft landing page and then walk through the whole process before you press live. It needs to be slick and provide a good experience for visitors/customers on your store pages. Second, assess what type of logins it provides - can it do social logins as well as email/password? Third, what integrations are available with other Shopify apps, or even other 3rd-party apps? For me personally, these would be the three key areas I’d be looking out for (this is also what I suggest to clients anyway).
In terms of which login apps provide best value for money, Id’ say ‘Quick Social Login’ and ‘Concierge Customer Accounts’. They take into account customer sizes and are pretty reasonable as you scale, so I’d be checking these out.
Pretty much all the login platforms I’ve talked about in this guide has some sort of integration (of course, the very least with Shopify), but you also want to consider whether or not it integrates with email marketing platforms, omni-channel marketing platforms, and even potentially CRMs you may use. From the list I created, I’d say the three top options that have good integrations available are Flits, Easy Auth, and ‘Concierge Customer Accounts’.
The options on this guide that have the best ratings are Oxi Social Login (over 400+ reviews), Flits (over 550+ reviews), and HIKO Social Login (40+ reviews). Each of them are highly praised on the app store and even on their respective sites.
