Average Shopify Rating – 4.9/5 stars based on over 110 reviews

I included all of these digital download apps in this guide because I’ve reviewed and personally rated all of them due to the value for money and the features they provide. However, if I had to narrow down to three apps that I personally would be prioritising and recommending to my clients, they would be SendOwl, Kable, and Sky Pilot. Just check out my reasons which I speak about in this guide, and you’ll see why I like them.
Luckily, most of the apps I’ve touched on provide a free trial or even a free tier (woo). So you can give them a test trial before you commit to one of them long term. For those fairly new to selling digital downloads, you can start off with the likes of EDP (Easy Digital Products) or Kable, which both have a have friendly UI and are easy to navigate around.
I think one of the main things you should look out for in my personal opinion is the ability to customise your design experience (UI) and it’s ease of use - mainly on the customer/visitor side, but also for yourself too. Design customisation you’ll normally be able to tell quite quickly through the product images on the app store, or perhaps you’ll know when you install and start playing around with the setup.
The ones with the best ratings in this guide I put together are EDP (Easy Digital Products), which has over 160+ reviews and mostly 5 stars, Filemonk which has over 100+ reviews, as well as Sky Pilot, which has 130+ reviews averaging around 4.9/5 (which is pretty awesome).
Many of the ones I’ve listed have a pretty good amount of features available, but for anyone looking to require a good suite of features (such as integrations, advanced customisation, etc.), it would have to be SendOwl. Plus, I personally really like the analytics/reporting part of the app, especially for stores/businesses which have a core strategy/offering for selling digital products.
